Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan, or ILLO, is the provincial network that connects our patrons to other public library collections in Ontario. When an item is not available in our catalogue, patrons may request up to five (5) items a month from other libraries to be picked up at our Public Services Desk.

To request items, visit the Information Network for Ontario (INFO)

How do I request an Interlibrary Loan?

You may use patron access interlibrary loan through Information Network for Ontario (INFO) to place a request yourself or you can place a request through library staff at the Public Services Desk.

How can I sign up?

Library users must first possess a valid library card and have an interlibrary loan patron record created in the INFO system by our staff. To register, provide your full name, address, home phone number and library card number in an email to illo@collingwood.ca

How long does it take to fulfill a request?

This varies depending on the availability of supply for the item. Many requests are filled in as little as two (2) weeks but harder to find items may take up to six (6) weeks or longer.

How will I be notified that my material is available?

Patron notification takes place once the item has been received at the Library. Staff will inform the patron by telephone or email. Prompt pick-up ensures that you will have maximum borrowing time.
