Membership Information

Residents of Collingwood and Non-Resident Taxpayers

Residents of the Town of Collingwood are entitled to full membership at the Collingwood Public Library. If you own a property within the Town of Collingwood but reside elsewhere you are also entitled to full membership. To establish your membership, please present valid personal I.D. and identification confirming your address within Town boundaries.

Non-resident taxpayers also need to confirm their principal address. A driver’s license or bill (e.g. tax, utility) is appropriate. Please be aware that it may be necessary to confirm property ownership with the Town Municipal Office.

All family members over five years of age are entitled to their own membership. Children and young adults between the ages of two and 15 inclusive must have their membership co-signed by a parent/guardian.

Members of the Library may have up to 25 items out on their record at one time. Preschool members may have 10 items out on their record at one time.

Grey Highland Residents

Your non-resident fee will be paid by the Municipality of Grey Highlands provided you are a resident in the north-east test area of the municipality. Contact Flesherton Public Library to obtain your reciprocal borrower card.

Visitor’s memberships may be renewed monthly.

Membership Information for Non-Residents

The Collingwood Public Library offers memberships to household residents in municipalities outside Town boundaries.

A non-resident membership is valid for the calendar year and has a universal renewal date of January 1. The annual membership is $120 per year. Fees will be prorated for memberships renewed or established during the year. Payment may be made in full or installments.

Five additional cards are available for family members with the membership held in the name of the primary cardholder.

Non-resident memberships may have up to 40 items out on their record at one time.

Non-Resident High School Students

High school students living outside Collingwood, but attending Jean Vanier High School or Collingwood Collegiate Institute qualify as non-resident students.

Join the Collingwood Public Library without a fee. Please present your student card and valid I.D. to set up your membership.

Memberships are valid September to August.

Members may have 10 items out on their record at one time. This membership is for the exclusive use of the card holder.

Institutional Memberships

Business owners and organizations of the Town of Collingwood are entitled to full membership at the Collingwood Public Library for $25 per year.

The institutional membership is designed to provide access to library services for staff who work in Collingwood, but reside elsewhere. Staff living in Collingwood are automatically entitled to a membership and only need to present valid I.D. confirming residency to do so.

The cardholder associated with this membership is responsible for material borrowed and will be invoiced for the replacement cost of material if lost, damaged or held overdue.

Only the staff member designated in this application is allowed to use this institutional membership at the Collingwood Public Library.

Procedure

Please fill out an institutional membership application form and return it, signed by the business owner or head of your organization. Present this card together with valid identification to establish a membership. The Library will be happy to prepare an individual membership under your institution’s name. Members of the Library may have up to 25 items out on their record at one time.
